A PCS isn't an ordinary move, and sometimes the most important question isn't which house to buy. It's whether to buy at all.
If another PCS is likely in a few years, we may consider whether a property should be easy to resell or potentially work as a rental. If you're still holding property from another duty station, that becomes part of the conversation. And if you expect to return to the Scott AFB area later in your career or after retirement, we may look at the decision differently again.
